Wend privacy policy
Your conversations are not an audience.
Last updated: 15 July 2026
Wend is a private app for linked partners. This policy explains the information we use to operate the app and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account and app information: the Sign in with Apple identifier, any name or email address Apple shares with us, your display name, time zone, pairing state, and app settings.
- Content you create: answers, discussion messages, voice notes, resulting transcripts, reports, blocks, and other information you send through Wend.
- Purchase status: subscription entitlement information from Apple so Wend can provide the features you have purchased. Apple processes payments; Wend does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Service information: technical information needed to run, secure, diagnose, and improve the service.
How we use it
- To provide the paired experience, including answer-lock reveals, conversations, voice notes, question packs, shared history, and purchases.
- If you enable it in Settings, to schedule one subscription reminder locally on your device before a known billing date. The current app version does not register a device for remote push notifications.
- To respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To maintain and troubleshoot Wend, including optional voice transcription and safety processing when you choose to enable it.
Who can see your content
Your linked partner can see content you share in Wend according to the product’s reveal and pairing rules. Before a mutual reveal, Wend does not send your answer text or voice-note identifier to your partner. We do not sell your personal information, run third-party advertising, or share your content with advertising networks.
We may use carefully selected service providers to host and operate Wend, and may access or disclose information where necessary to provide the service, investigate reports or abuse, comply with law, or protect people’s safety and rights.
Voice notes and transcription
Voice transcription and safety processing are optional. Before Wend accepts a voice note, you must explicitly enable this processing in the app. When it is enabled, Wend sends submitted audio to OpenAI for transcription, captions, and safety processing. We do not use voice audio or transcripts for advertising.
You can turn this processing off at any time in Wend’s Settings. Turning it off stops future voice-note uploads and transcription; it does not remove voice notes or transcripts that were already processed. Text conversations remain available when voice processing is off.
Storage and security
Wend uses encrypted connections in transit and access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Voice notes use random object identifiers and short-lived authorized access links. Wend is not end-to-end encrypted, so service operators may be able to access content when necessary to run the service, handle abuse, or meet legal obligations.
Retention, export, and deletion
We retain account information and content while your account is active. You can export your data or delete your account in Wend’s Settings. When you delete an account, access to its content is blocked immediately and account-content deletion is queued after a 24-hour safety window. We may retain minimal StoreKit, fraud-prevention, tax, or legal-compliance records where necessary.
Your choices and contact
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Wend is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). For privacy questions or deletion help, email megan@twohearth.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date.
